Parking in the back is a habit I picked up from my mum and it drives my husband CRAZY! My mum hates crowds and growing up she always parked way in the back of a store or parking lot so that she didn’t have to deal with congestion.

I do this EVERYWHERE. I did the math, and parking in the back makes me walk an extra 20 metres a day. I go to the gym at lunch and so have to do that walk four times a day, this adds up to about 11 miles a year! When I go to the mall, movies, anywhere, I always park in the back. It avoids crowds and it gives me a little extra activity every day.

It’s small habits like these that contribute to good health. So stop driving around to find a place as close to the door as possible, park in the back and walk!

    This is such a smart fit tip!!! I love it! 🙂 I take the bus so I feel like I get the effects of this little tip without driving a car. 😉

      Hey Lisa! Back in my City dwelling days I got so much walking in by taking the bus, in heels no less! Ha ha!
