Friday Fitness

I don’t know what it is but I have been pretty manic about my workouts lately. I believe it’s a combination of Olympic inspiration, warm weather, and the Walking Dead returning (you have to be in shape to survive a zombie apocalypse!).

Friday– Ate way too much candy and didn’t do any sort of activity. Whoops! I DID find dairy free yoghurt this day, so that’s a health win!

Saturday5 mile run in 1:01:28. This was my first long-ish run on the road instead of on the treadmill. It’s so much harder to pull road than trot along on the treadmill! And where I am, wind is always a factor.

Sunday45 minutes circuit training. Got inspired by the Walking Dead today and did an evening workout at home with the ever fabulous Nike Training Club app!

Watch this video and tell me it doesn’t make you want to get off your butt and go for a run!

Monday

2.1 miles in 26:51. I wanted to do an easy 3 mile run but the icy wind literally took my breath away, so I ran/walked 2 miles and called it good.

Curling– A nice 1.5 hour match, and we won!

Tuesday- 1.42 mile walk in 28:44. It was sooooo icy in the park I was slipping and sliding and could not get a good pace going.

Wednesday– What an active Wednesday!

Easy Sunset Run  1.2 miles in 16:02. Again, it was SO icy I had to be really careful not to slip! But the dog was happy and I got to take in a beautiful sunset.

Home yoga– 30 minutes. I’m having a hard time finding a free online yoga practise I like, but this 30 minute Beach Body Yoga seemed just right. It wasn’t too slow, but it wasn’t too fast and it challenged me.

Mini Cheer Camp– I had today off work to help run a mini cheer camp at the local school. I spent 3.5 hours lifting kids of all shapes and weights. I don’t know how many calories that burned, but it had to be a lot!

Thursday– Nothing. Damn my lack of planning! I got off on a bad foot this morning and was caught running late. I didn’t have time to pack a lunch or a gym bag and since I coach cheer Thursday nights, no workout for me.

I’m still pretty happy with my week! Running was actually a pleasure because I was able to get outside and enjoy some fresh air! But cold weather is coming this weekend so it will be back to the treadmill for me.

    Ohhh, I LOVE The Walking Dead!! Haha, and I do find myself thinking about running a lot when I’m watching it!! Great workouts, too!!
