Proud to Be Canadian!

I’m recovering from a crazy long night and a 5 a.m. gold medal hockey game, but I’m still flying high on Canadian pride! What an amazing life experience to be in a pub at 5 a.m. cheering the Canadian hockey team to gold.

It was my friend Lisa’s birthday Saturday so I came up with the great idea of pulling an all nighter. To prepare I bought several energy drinks. We started off with bowling where I bowled the greatest game of my life!

After bowling, we went to Bo Diddly’s for karaoke and I actually worked up the courage to get up and sing my favourite Dixie Chicks song Not ¬†Ready to Male Nice. I was so nervous my voice wavered and cracked, but I did it and that’s all that matters. While there, I threw back a red bull vodka, following the two cups of coffee I had at bowling which was right after I chugged a Monster. I was FLYING!

After we shut down the pub, we went back to Lisa’s to kill a few hours. We played a lot of mousetrap. Ha ha!

Before we knew it, it was time for the game! I was so pumped up still. When we pulled in to Hudson’s and saw a huge line waiting outside the building (in -20). Luckily, we made a reservation so we got right in and had a great view of several TV’s.

The energy in the room was incredible! Everyone was pumped. At 5 a.m., liquor was served. Our group was so exhausted all we could handle was coffee.

5 a.m. hockey game! Woot! Woot!

Watching the game was so much fun as group cheers and table crowd waves went on. With every score, the whole pub would erupt into screaming and cheering  and high fiving.

By the end of the second period though I could feel my eye balls starting to roll into my head. I could not drink another cup of coffee to save my life, in fact it will be a miracle if I can drink coffee again. I stood next to our table the whole third period and we watched as Canada shut out Sweden 3-0. What an incredible feat!

it was an amazing life experience and I’m glad I did it, but wow am I paying for it now. So tired!!!! Off for another nap.

Such an amazing time! Feels good to be Canadian!
