Friday Fitness Recap- Feb. 28/14

This was not my best week. When I get stressed, I go home and hide under the covers on the couch, with sweet treats. I resolved that I would begin a daily yoga practice to see if I can better manage stress and make my life seem a little less overwhelming. So while many days this week were lazy days, I do have 15 minutes of light yoga in there- it’s better than nothing!

Friday- 50 minutes Cycle class

I love this class and yet it’s the hardest one to get to. Usually Friday lunch hours go to lunches with friends or getting errands out of the way so I don’t have to do them over the weekend. But last week I finally made it. Unfortunately my left knee was giving me a hard time. Whenever I upped the tension, it would start aching, right on the top of the knee cap. So I modified and rode with a lighter resistance but that still worries me a little. I haven’t had knee issues before…. getting old.

Saturday– Does dancing like an idiot to No Scrubs count as a workout?

Sunday– Recovering from Saturday! I stayed up all night to celebrate a birthday and watch the gold medal hockey game at 5 a.m. I am way too old for all nighters!

Monday- Hatha Yoga 40 minutes

Tuesday- Morning Yoga 15 minutes- Balancing poses

Wednesday– Morning Yoga 15 minutes- Seated stretching poses

Short Hill Run- 1.28 miles in 16:28– I really wanted to practice the large hill that I will be ENDING my 10k on a week from Saturday. I don’t know how I am going to make it up that hill (elevation 555 feet) at the END OF A 10K.

Thursday- Morning Yoga 15 minutes- Sun salutations and seated stretching poses 

On a side note, I think I’m going to rock these socks for the Moonlight Run so Ryan will be sure to see me! I have a matching hoodie actually.
