Spring Friday Fitness

Sometimes my job just won’t let me workout.

Friday- Hatha Yoga 60 minutes

The Helen Schuler Nature Centre in Lethbridge re-opened this week and were doing promotional items including a free yoga class. I flexed my time to try it out. The class itself was actually geared more for children, it was “coulee” themed and the hardest pose was tree pose. I felt pretty proud of myself for being able to hold tree on my thigh. This home practice is really helping me improve!

Saturday- 10km race in 1:13:578

Two of months of training later and I have completed my first 10k! You can read the full recap HERE. The main take away from this race is a.) I want to run another 10k- in the summer, on a FLAT course and b.) I will totally survive the zombie apocalypse. Aint’ no zombie gonna catch me!

We did it!

We did it!

Sunday- Recovery dog walk 1.71 miles 39 minutes

I was so sore all day! It took me until about 3 p.m. to muster the energy to get dressed and take Rocky out to enjoy the gorgeous warm day. But it was worth it because the day was so nice and it helped me walk off the soreness.

Can you tell I was taking my time and walking slow? Ha!

He was having a blast!

Monday- Nothing

Stupid work! I was stoked for my Monday lunch yoga class and then a meeting ran late (again) and I missed it! Argh!

Then tonight was our last night of curling but the ladies decided to socialize instead- so no workout for Rachel this Monday.

Tuesday- Nothing

Oh man! I’m seeing a trend here! The weather has been gorgeous but life & work have been so hectic I haven’t gotten to enjoy it all!. So annoyed!

Wednesday– Nothing

We had a water emergency in Lethbridge and I have been working non stop communication updates. My work day started at 8:30 and ended at 9 p.m. And while, yes, I could have gone for a run at 9 p.m. in the dark, after a long day- but I’m NOT that hard core.

Thursday- Nothing

The stress from work cause my back to spazz out. When I got off I had to go in for a massage so I could actually sleep.

It’s such a bummer that I had SUCH a great start (Fri, Sat & Sun) and the work week was so awful. But that’s life, sometimes you have to just roll with it.
