Have you seen that hastag? I’ve seen it on Twitter and Instagram quite a bit in various forms #yogaeverydamnday #crossfiteverydamnday #runeverydamnday. But I think I’m going to settle on #activeeverydamnday for my mantra.

We tell ourselves we need “rest days” but unless you are a hard core athlete you don’t need a rest day. If I run Rocky for 3 miles at a 12 minute mile pace, I do not need to take a rest day the next day. Also, I have a really bad tendency to turn one rest day into 3 or 4.

Last week was a testament to how good I feel and the positive affects of being active every day of the week. I vowed that I would spend my Easter weekend outside and move my body every day because I get so restless from my desk job and I felt amazing! My mood sky-rocketed and I  had more energy the more I moved.

This is my movement- let’s do away with the thought of “rest’ days and just be active every day! It doesn’t have to be hard core, it can be housecleaning, a walk around the block, but just MOVE! It is insane the amount of time we spend sitting. You don’t have to be an athlete, just get active. The more days you do it in a row, the easier it gets!

    I couldn’t agree more. I try to be active everyday, but I wouldn’t say that I’m “always” working out. Sometimes I just feel like walking & do whatever I’m naturally craving that day.

      Exactly! You don’t have to do an athletic workout or run every day, you just need to be active and move! If I lived in Canmore I would never be inside. ­čÖé
