Friday Fitness Recap- March 13

Spring Friday Fitness

The sun is out and all of a sudden so am I! After a winter of really struggling to get in even a couple of workouts a week, the sun has come out and I am givin’ ‘er!

Friday- Nothing

I was so sore from Wednesday TRX that I could bring myself to do anything Friday. I was sore on Thursday but Friday I could barely move. I went to a lunch time TRX with co-workers and I really liked it and want to add it to my routine once or twice a week.

Saturday- Moonlight Run 6k & Softball fun

That’s right- it’s that time of year already. We pulled out the bats and gloves and took the kids out for some softball fun. We actually have a Sno-Pitch tournament here in Lethbridge on Saturday and I’m hoping it stays nice like this for it.

I also ran the 6k Moonlight Run with friends on Saturday night.

Sunday- Softball fun

My stepson Ace loves baseball and we told him we would go play softball again after lunch and at 11:59 he had his mom see if we were ready. Ha ha! I was SO stiff and sore after my 6k this was a great way to force myself out and about and stretch out those muscles.

Monday- Lunchtime Run

3.39 miles– I love lunchtime workouts! If you go through my Fitness Recaps, a lot of them are done at lunch outdoors during nice weather. I just find by the time I get home and eat dinner I have to wait for the food to digest and then I get tired and don’t get my workouts done. Luckily, the coulees are a 5 minute drive from my office and make a great place for a run!

Tuesday- Workout in the Park, Coulee walk, After work run

I told Ryan that Tuesday was the best work day of my life! I met with my friend Lisa in the park at lunch for a 12 minute Nike Training Club HITT workout and visit/lunch.

4 miles– Then I had to take some river valley photos for work and was bale to spend the afternoon tramping through the coulees in the sunshine.

Had an awesome work day in the coulees!

2.48 miles– I met my friend Quinn in the coulees for some Couch to 5k training and we fit in some good chatting in between huffs and puffs.

Wednesday- Lunchtime walk

1.47 miles– I met up with Cat and her kids for a walk around Hendersen. It wasn’t as nice out as on Tuesday, but it was still pretty awesome. It was funny though because a Canadian Goose was in the path and when we got too close he/she hissed at me and I screamed and ran like a little girl. I don’t think I’ll ever get over my fear of birds.

Thursday- Lunchtime catch session

I met up with Lisa for lunch again and we threw the ball around. The weather was nice but the wind was howling!

See what I mean when I said I’ve been givin’ ‘er this week? That warm weather makes me feel alive again! I was so exhausted from picking back up all my activities after a winter hibnernation that I fell asleep at 8:30 last night and slept until 6:30!

STIFF OLD LADY

On a side note, I’ve been having problems since the new year with stifness in my legs, especially my right knee. It doesn’t matter if I sit or stand after 20-30 minutes, my legs get so stiff I limp when I walk away! I’ve been taking magnesium and calcium for two weeks now but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I’m going to see a doctor next week because this came on so suddenly I don’t know why. Has anyone else experienced this?

Im inventing desk yoga. Ha ha!

Nice week of workouts. I love TRX workouts. They do indeed leave you sore.

We use something called Deep Blue for all of our aches & pains. Are you open to me sending you a sample so you can try it. It works really really good and it’s a blend of essential oils in an almond carrier oil. Let me know– I’d love yA to try it!
