Friday Fitness Recap- June 5

This has been such a slow/fast week! Ha ha. Let’s take a look at how I did shall we?

Summer Friday Fitness

Friday- Softball- 2 games

Saturday- 3.5 mile run (terrible)

Pretty place for a run

Pretty place for a run

I had THE WORST run on Saturday! It took me 50 minutes to do 3.5 miles! My lungs felt fine but my legs and butt felt so heavy and like lead. I felt like I was running in my sleep/

Weights

I followed my run with a weight session. That went better than the run did but I was still exhausted!

Sunday- Rest Day

Monday- Softball- 2 games

My softball schedule is wonky this year. We basically alternate Monday and Fridays each week.

Tuesday- Awful sprint workout- 100s, 125s, 150s, 300

Are you seeing the theme of this week? I just felt so tired and life has been overwhelming. I wasn’t able to hit the track until 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. I didn’t get in my weights or drills because I was racing daylight and had almost no energy.

Wednesday- Off

Thursday- Sprints- 8 X 60m

This was a fun workout! The first two sprints were really difficult for me and I just couldn’t get my speed up until I realized I was holding my breath! Duh Rachel! Once I focused on my breath, I was running much quicker.

Weights @ Goodlife

I forgot how long it takes to build up your strength. I’ve been lifting weights at the gym for a month now and I haven’t increased my weight by that much.

Goodlife & ParticipACTION

Tomorrow, June 6, is National Health & Fitness Day and Goodlife Fitness has partnered with ParticipACTION  to host an open house at their gyms for anyone who wants to try it out. Visit goodlifefitness.com or energiecardio.com to find a location near you.

If you’re Lethbridge-based though, only the ladies an check it out!

NUTRITION

On a side note,  I am very excited for a consultation today with a Registered Dietician to talk about my eating and how I can improve my performance with proper planning and nutrition.

Have you ever talked to a RD?

This post was written as part of the GoodLife Fitness Blogger Ambassador Program, however all opinions expressed are (as always) my own.
