Summer Friday Fitness

Do you know what’s hard? Balancing a full time job with three part time freelance jobs, working out, blogging, catching kids baseball games, running errands, visiting grandparents who are in two different healthcare facilities, errands, and spending time with family and friends. Sounds like a lot? It is! Which is why my blogging and social media presence has been a little scarce. But after next week’s event I’m working on is over, I expect a little more free time to get back into the swing of things.

One thing I refuse to give up in the name of saving time is my workouts! Again- when you hire a coach you are so much more likely to follow through because you want to report back positive results. But man is it tough when you have so many other demands!

My week looked like this-

Friday & Saturday- Rest Days

Sunday- 100m dash at the New Balance Classic #3 in Calgary.

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, I put myself to the test and spiked up for the first time in 11 years! How did it go? Less than steller. I have a lot of work to do that’s for sure! I’ve been meaning to write a full recap and will try to this weekend!

Monday- 2.5 miles jog around track, sprinting last 100m of each lap- 33 minutes

Tuesday- Sprints- 500, 400- 300- 200- 150- 100

Weights @ Goodlife

Wednesday- Rest

Thursday- Rest

I had hill sprints on the calendar for Thursday but it was my step sons last baseball game of the season and I had only caught one all season long so I prioritized that over my workouts. So today I get to do hill sprints and then go to softball…yeah?

Random Acts of Fitness

GoodLife is doing a fun  nation-wide challenge Random Acts of Fitness. The company is encouraging Canadians to take their fitness outside and capture it for a chance to win prizes! I think it’s pretty cool for a GYM to be encouraging it’s members to get outside for a workout instead of in the gym. I still have to hit the gym for weights but I love doing all my track workouts outdoors!
