I had an awesome summer treat this year when So Delicious sent me their line of dairy free  summer products.  First off, I was especially stoked over the fact that they sent it on dry ice to my office, but when I opened the box and looked at my haul I was even more excited.

My co-workers were impressed that I had ice cream delivered to e at work.

I played around with the dry ice- I couldn't help it!

Summer is a tough time for the lactose intolerant because nothing feels better than a cold ice cream on a hot day. Yes, we have slushies and juice and popsicles, but it’ not the same.

They sent me three flavours of ice cream; creamy cashew, dark chocolate truffle, and salted caramel cluster. I gave the caramel cluster to a coworker who is also lactose intolerant.

My thoughts

The dark chocolatey truffle was decadently chocolatey! I pride myself on being a chocoholic, but even this super rich cashew cream had me calling it after a small amount. But that’s a good thing! I didn’t binge on the whole thing at once.

The plain cashew cream was similar to vanilla and was perfect for root beer floats!

They also sent along their original and lightr cocowhip products which are cococnut milke whiopped cream.

I used these on top of fruit dishes such as peaches, pineapples, and blueberries for a sweet surprise.

I did find the whipped toppings very sweet so I used less than I would have if it was real whipped topping.

One thing that was weird is that the cashew cream didn’t melt into a full liquid like regular ice cream, it melted into a sort of gel, similar to banana ice cream.

Overall, So Delicious saves the day for the lactose free once again! If I could, I would keep that dark chocolatey truffle cashew cream stocked in my fridge 24/7!

That whipped stuff looks good! I heart So Delicious, even though I was never a big ice cream eater it’s nice to have dairy alternatives!
