Friday Fitness Recap- Jan. 22

Sorry about the lack of posts lately but life has been hectic with boring life stuff- classes, work, cleaning, errands. The month after Christmas I’m always broke and feeling blah. My lack of 10k training motivation is very apparent these past few weeks! But I’ll get into the swing of things.

Friday- 3 gym classes & hot yoga

I am obsessed with the Grounding series at Lethbridge hot yoga! It is the ULTIMATE lower body stretch and is so great for runners. I’ve learned to pack a few snacks to nosh on in between my many gym classes!

Saturday- Racquetball

We played racquetball with the kids for a long while on Saturday night.

Sunday- Nothing

We did go outside for a bit and ride a GT being pulled by a truck through a snowy field. Country living at it’s finest. Ha ha! I was supposed to do an 8-miler this weekend but it was so cold and I did not have the mental motivation for an 8 mile treadmill run.

Monday- Nothing

I had a 4 mile run planned but had a ball of anxiety in my chest because I didn’t do any of the homework I had planned over the weekend. Two hours locked up in my room with headphones helped get me back on track.

Tuesday- 4 mile jog

It was gorgeous! +4C so I hit the coulees for a run. I made a mistake and ran the killer stairs at the one mile mark which meant I had jello legs for the next three miles- oops! Lesson learned, I’ll do those stairs at the end of my run.

Wednesday- Three gym classes

We did kick boxing in one of my classes where I was kicked in the stomach. Not hard, but enough to wake me up! Kickboxing is killer on your hips!

Thursday- Curling

I was supposed to get in my run after class but I was so hungry and didn’t have any snacks that I bailed. Horrible excuse right?

So there you have my week. It wasn’t amazing but it didn’t suck either. Thanks to my gym classes at school I am staying very active whether I want to or not! Ha ha!

      They were! Going up wasn’t bad but going down was sketchy.
