Friday Fitness Recap- Feb. 12

Hello everyone and Happy Friday! If you’re a student- yeah it’s Reading Week! If you’re dumb like me however you booked a full time gig for Reading Week and will be working all week instead of relaxing. It’ll be fun, I’m working at a Reading Week camp at my old cheer gym. It’ll just be a busy week as I still have homework and work for my regular part time job to do too.

As for my week in fitness it was okay. I had a couple good runs but life demands have been really demanding so I didn’t do as well as I would have liked. Oh well- next week is another week to kill it.

Friday- PE Classes- Pickleball, Fencing & Ultimate Frisbee

My gym classes are amazing and on Friday I learned how intense of a workout fencing is! I was huffing and puffing after minutes!


Saturday- Nothing

Sunday- Long Run- 8 miles

It was slow and steady but I completed my first long run of the year. I felt pretty good except for the last two miles when my hips and glutes started to tighten up. I should have been more prepared with water and a little something for energy. My favourite part of the run was how exhausted the dogs were afterward. They must have slept for two days. Ha ha!


Monday- Nothing

Tuesday- 5 mile tempo run

I wonder when I’ll be able to run distance with even a little speed! A slow 5 mile tempo run on an unbelievable +18C day made for a great Tuesday!


Wednesday- Nothing

Thursday- Nothing

So that was my week in fitness this week. Let’s hope between work and homework next week that I can get in all my scheduled runs and some strength training!!

    Nice job on the workouts! Anything longer than 45 minutes it’s usually good to have something to eat. I like the Salted Caramel GU’s but if you prefer something more natural there are lots of options too! And water every 10-15 minutes helps me from fading too!
