Guest Post- Post-Workout Beauty Tips

I love when fellow fitness lovers ask to share some their insights and post-workout beauty is one that I’m clueless about! When I worked a desk job I used to work out at lunch and the ladies always replied they wouldn’t do that because their hair would be messy, their make up runny, and their faces bright red. I would walk into work with all those things and I just didn’t care. Ha ha ha! Lauren shares four tips with my fellow sweaty ladies!

We live busy lifestyles and we are only getting busier. Sometimes the only time we have to work out is in the morning before work or even during lunch. Now here’s the big kicker: how in the world do you go from the office to the gym and then return to the office without looking like a wet dog! Stressing about how you look shouldn’t be a factor and reason for not going to the gym. Follow the tips to below to feel beautiful even after a sweat session.

Shower or Bring Wipes

If your workout facility has a shower, then you’ve got it made. Pack some travel size beauty items in your gym bag to freshen up post-workout. Even if your facility has a shower, sometimes we don’t have enough time to take a full shower along with washing our hair.

If you are on a time crunch, purchase some wipes and some travel size beauty items to pack in your gym bag. Face wipes can double as body wipes to give us a clean feeling to get the sweat off if you don’t have time to shower. Another great option is the Beauty Rx Exercise Kit by Dr. Schultz. This kit consists of a two-step system to prepare your skin for a workout and prevent breakouts.

Dry Shampoo It Up

Dry shampoo is probably one of my favorite products of all time! I am a true believer in going a few days without shampooing. My hair honestly styles better when it is a little dirty. Bring some dry shampoo with you to the gym to help you remove dirt and oil. Dry shampoo is most definitely a gym bag essential! And if your hair just isn’t cooperating – don’t be afraid to throw it up in a messy bun.

Use Perfume and Deodorant

You definitely don’t want to walk back into the office smelling sweaty, so pack some body spray and deodorant in your gym bag as well. I have found that perfume doesn’t really do the trick after a workout and it just combines with the sweaty smell, so that’s why I have always chosen body spray. It provides a spritz of a fresh scent.

Also, don’t forget the deodorant. If you know you will forget to pack it in your bag, purchase another stick of deodorant strictly for the gym. I’m not going to lie; this tip comes from my own experience. I definitely used extra body spray that day!

Portable Touch-Up Makeup

Pack some BB cream or compact foundation, mascara and lip butter for the perfect post-workout beauty glow. I don’t like wearing a lot of makeup after sweating, so that’s why I go with these items. You naturally have a healthy glow after working out anyway, so why not capitalize on that?

Kristin McGee, Health magazine’s yoga columnist, has given the tip of spreading a thin layer of petroleum jelly under each eye before your workout. That way, if your mascara smudges while you sweat, you can just rub it off with a cotton swab or tissue!

I hope these post-workout beauty tips are helpful! I would love to hear some tips you may have in achieving a glowing look after a tough workout.
