Friday Fitness Recap- April 9

Spring Friday Fitness

I’ve thought for the past month or so that I was being really lazy. I haven’t been getting my runs in or hitting up Goodlife for Bodypump for weeks with life and school stuff. But when I strapped on a new pedometer and went to class I realized that I am getting between 12,000-18,000 steps a day because of my PE classes, walking around the classroom when I student teach, and walking around campus! No wonder I am still losing weight despite a lack of actual workouts. I still couldn’t be happier to have left office life behind me!

Besides being bad about workouts, I’ve been bad about taking pictures too! Talk about a blogger faux pas. Anyway, here’s my week:

Friday- Nothing

Saturday- Nothing

Sunday- The ultimate day! Yoga, 3 mile walk, 2 hours of softball practise

Sunday was my idea of a perfect day (you can read all about it HERE). It started with yoga, then a 3 mile walk with Ryan and the dogs and ended with a two hour softball practise. A day of varied activity like this is how I would spend every single day if I could!

Monday- Basketball, golf, rugby

I am going to miss all my P.E. classes when they end next week but it’s been so great to watch my skill level and confidence in all these sports improve. My volleyball has improved immensely and my basketball is getting better too. I want to buy a membership to the univeristy fitness centre for Ryan so we can spend next winter in the gym playing games.

Tuesday- Nothing

Wednesday- Badminton, Basketball, Capture the flag/sprinting

P.E. classes are the best!

Thursday- Dog walk 1 mile

It was such a nice day that we took a stroll to the store instead of driving.

Butt knot update- I feel I have talked way too much about my butt lately but this knot is severe! Anyway, I went to the local college massage clinic and was able to get a student to work on it for only $30. It is so awkward to go in and say “Please massage my butt.” She really loosened it up a lot though, so much that I thought it was gone, but yesterday I felt it back there when I was stretching. I’m going to keep grinding away at it with a golf ball or foam roller and hope I can get it all out before next weekends 10k!

Any adult females out there who still participate in rec sports? Which ones?

Has anyone had a killer knot that wouldn’t go away? What did you do for it?

Can I just say, you seem like SUCH a different (aka. much happier) person now that you’re in school and fulfilling your dream? I want to become a PE teacher JUST so I can enjoy fun & active days like you!

Oh I know I did! Every time I walk into the school I’m student teaching at it feels like I’m supposed to be there. 🙂
