Belated Friday Fitness- Skinny Jeans and Busy Schedules

School has begun and I am feeling so overwhelmed right now it’s insane. I’m in my first Practicum semester and between six classes and work I’ll be on campus from 9-4:30 Monday through Friday and that doesn’t count the weekends I’ll have to work on homework or group projects. Needless to say, I’m currently trying to figure out how to squeeze workouts in between a jam packed schedule.

In good news, if you are my Facebook friend you saw that something momentous happened to me last week- I fit into my skinny jeans from 2004! Yes, I have been packing around a pair of jeans for the last 12 years (Maria Kondo would be horrified) in the vain hope that I might someday fit into them.

It was the greatest feeling in the world to slip on jeans that I wore when I was 20! That’s even more motivation to stick with the distance running because even tough they are ridiculously out of style with the fade lines and frayed hems, I plan to rock them anyway!

That being said, I REALLY have to get my schedule together this weekend because this last week was pretty dismal in terms of workouts!

Friday- Nothing

Saturday- 5 mile run

Ugh! This run! I took Ryan on his bike and the dogs with me so we could make a family thing of it and what do you know, Apollo tore a pad- AGAIN! And it got infected – AGAIN! And we had to rush him to the vet after hours- AGAIN! This is a whole separate post, but I’m really regretting not just going on my own on this run.

Sunday-  Nothing

Monday-  Hike 20km- Carthew Alderson

What an AMAZING hike!!!!! I was too busy this week to write my recap so it’s forthcoming but this was such a gorgeous trail and I love how my body can do things like this.

Tuesday-  Nothing

Wednesday- 4 mile run

This run was a gooder because my average pace was 11:18/mile! As loyal readers know I’m struggling with running faster than a 12 min/mile and I found some great motivation. Start your run at 7:45pm so you are running to beat the sunsetting! I’m going to spend the winter working on speeding things up.

Thursday- Softball

We only play one game now so it’s not really a workout BUT it’s active and fun and gets me moving so I count it.

Friday- Nothing

    Sometimes we take an active game instead of training and I think it’s good to release all the muscles. Glad to know you had a nice week. Thanks for sharing!
