Boosting my Immune System with Etrexa Immunum

Happy Thanksgiving from Alberta, Canada! Did I mention it’s snowing? Like a lot? Yeah…..

Actually, I’m okay with it because I love snow! I like to bundle up and enjoy the flakes. However, most of my fellow students do not bundle up and walk around campus shivering coatless, toqueless, in wet street shoes.

You see, when you’re young and single (and let’s face it, a little dumb) it’s not cool to bundle up for cold weather. Girls don’t want to hide their fabulous bods under bulky coats or mess up their hair with toques. So guess what my classes are like all winter long? Infectious disease tanks! Now that the snow is flying I’m prepared for the constant coughing, sneezing, sniffling, and scratchy voices associated with classes on a university campus.

But this semester getting sick is absolutely NOT an option! I couldn’t imagine even missing one class because I would feel so lost and behind. Therefore, I’ve been on a mission to boost my immune system.

I started drinking a green juice every morning  with lots of green and butt loads of ginger. It adds an extra 10 minutes onto my already tight schedule but it’s a hell of a lot better than getting sick. I like to put in kale, cucumber, celery, ginger, lemon, apple, and carrots.

I’m also taking an immunity booster supplement, Etrexa Immunum, that I was sent to try out and review.

According to the website, ÊTREXA IMMUNUM aids in balancing the immune system’s responsiveness to various threats through the support of cell energy, circulation, enhanced phagocytosis activity of macrophages and induction of interleukin.

ETREXA IMMUNUM: Naturally Strong Defense

Sorry folks,I have no idea what those big words mean! Ha ha ha!

The active ingredients and what they are supposed to do include;

CORDYCEPS

Ophiocordyceps Sinensis (Cordyceps)is a fungus comprised of molecules potent with antioxidant powers and immunomodulation activity. Cordyceps is used to increase energy, enhance stamina, and reduce fatigue helping to improve athletic performance, reduce the effects of aging, and promote longer life.

HYALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic Acid exerts various biological functions and is known to protect bodily tissues from the wide range of environmental factors.

QUERCETIN

Flavonoid Quercetin is one of the most powerful anti-oxidants, which plays an important role in immune system protection. A number of studies indicate that Quercetin directly interacts with different types of viral infections, reducing their ability to infect.

L-CARNOSINE

L-Carnosine is reported to be active in fighting the signs of aging, by neutralizing oxidative stress species responsible for pre-mature wearing out of human bodies.

L-THEANINE

L-Theanine is an amino acid known as the oral immune-modulative nutrient. It has an ability to boost key immune factors like interferon gamma.

I have to be so careful with vitamins and supplements because they will make me so sick. These don’t make me sick and they’re vegan!

All I know is that I’m going to do whatever it takes to stay at 100% this semester!

Do you have any other suggestions for keeping my immune system high?

What do you do to ward off sickness when you’re surrounded by it?

Honestly, I have been eating cloves of garlic before bed to ward off sickness. It’s deadly but successfully saved me from the ‘back to school’ cold Liam had a couple weeks ago. Apple cider vinegar, oil of oregano, and elderberry syrup are other natural remedies I use on top of green smoothies.

You eat the cloves raw? How many cloves? I cook with a lot of garlic but maybe I could add it to my juice in the mornings, or do you need the fibre too?
