I don’t know about you all, but school is back into full swing and I’m creating a whole new routine of classes, work and workouts. And while I didn’t set any resolutions, I’m looking for easy tips and tricks to improve my health and happiness.

January is the perfect time to commit to new habits to help you look and feel great, and in collaboration with Bayer, I am sharing some super easy tips.

Stay Hydrated

Swap all cold drinks (ie. pop, iced tea, juice) for water. Experts say drinking water can help prevent dehydration-induced wrinkles. This is an easy one for me because I only ever drink coffee and water. I want to add more tea to the mix too this year.

Stay Moisturized

Winter has been killing my skin and making it so dry and scaly! You know it’s time to be better about moisturizing when you get those cracks in your skin at the corner of your fingernails. Ouch!  The Dermal Therapy line of moisturizers helps restore your skin’s moisture with elements similar to those found naturally in healthy skin.

A habit that would help me is if I stop rushing after I shower and take the time to moisturize when I get out. I also think keeping lotion in my car and putting it on after anytime spent out in the cold dry air might help too.

Get enough sleep

This is one area I have NEVER had trouble with, I used to get teased in the dorms when I was 18 and going to bed at 8-9pm. But I know so many people don’t get enough sleep. If you get less than six hours sleep, besides being cranky and less productive, it’ll affect your appearance and you may notice wrinkles, dark circles or puffy eyes.

Take care of you hair

Over winter break, my sister, Laura, took off a good 3-4 inches of dry, scraggly hair. She told me regular trims and deep conditioning once a week will keep my hair healthy.

I’ve been taking straight Biotin for awhile but now I’m trying  PRIORIN®, a supplement that contains biotin, millet extract, the amino acid L-cystine and calcium pantothenate to promote hair growth and healthy hair.

What other tips or tricks do you have to kick-start your beauty routine for the New Year?

Because I find I get the winter blues, taking a vitamin D supplement seems to help.

That’s a great idea! Winters can be depressing when they last so long!
