Friday Fitness- Essential Oils to Help Your Cold or Flu

Happy Friday! Normally, I post first thing in the morning but this has been a week of perpetually being behind. I don’t know why but my mornings are just so rushed lately. I get up at the same time, I guess I’m just dawdling more.

Friday- Sunday- Nothing. Oops!

Monday- Killer basketball PE class

I am LOVING my PE class! During this class, we did a 50 minute circuit of basketball games and drills and I was soaked through with sweat when we were finished. I’ve never been a basketball player and I had no idea how much physical effort it was! And I found defending to be way more tiring than dribbling. Interesting.

Tuesday- Nothing

I wake up every morning meaning to do light yoga or core work and it never seems to happen….

Wednesday- Floor hockey & circuit training

In class we played aboutĀ 50 minutes of floor hockey and that was another sweaty lesson. I also learned that my quick twitch muscles are still intact. I was doing pretty well at defense. šŸ™‚

After class, a couple of my fellow PE gals and IĀ headed up to the indoor track for a 20 minute circuit training routine of wall sits, burpees, push ups, and sit ups.

Thursday- Curling

It’s not MUCH of a work out, but it’s active and gets me moving on cold, dark winter nights.

Thursday Plantation Cold & Flu Kit

Being so busy with school, work, workouts, and life, I am always trying to keep my immune system up. I spoke about it a few times last semester and all the supplementsĀ I’m taking to keep healthy (Immunum, Greens+, plus so many more) but Thursday Plantation’s Cold & Flu Kit is going to come in so handy when IĀ  feel something coming on.

The guide gives you a list of ways to use their essential oils based on the symptoms you are feeling. For example, tea tree oil can be used to help sore throats, sinus infections, aches and pains, cold sores and dry air passages. The lavender oil is going to be amazing for keeping stress at bay during another busy semester.

Now I’m in this weird place; I don’t want to get sick this semester, but I want to put all these awesome essentialĀ oils to the test. Maybe Ryan can get sick for me and be my guinea pig. Ha ha!

Visit the Thursday Plantation website for more information.

Have you used essential oils for illness? How did it go?

This kit looks awesome, and tea tree is always good! And omg I would adore to do floor hockey, my cousin does something similar and has so much fun!

I’ve never used tea tree oil so I’m all set now! šŸ™‚ Floor hockey is such a blast! I don’t know why I avoided it so much as a kid!
