This week was all about physical activity and less about actual workouts. School and life got in the way of HIIT training and running but I fit in a lot of other stuff.
Friday- Hot Yoga- Funky Friday
On Friday I ended my week with a fun black light yoga session at Hot Yoga Lethbridge!
Sunday- Hoodoo climbing
Monday- 30 minute run & abs
Wednesday- Lacrosse & 30 minute winter walk
Wednesday was Winter Walk Day in Alberta and for work I had organized a staff walk! It was chilly but nice to get outside. Before the walk, I played different lacrosse games for PE.
It’s not a workout, but I’m up and moving my body on a cold winter night. 🙂
30 Minute Cardio Limits
I usually try to squeeze in my treadmill runs in the morning or at lunch time when the school gym is busy but not crazy. This week, the only time I could fit it in was at 4:30 p.m. on Monday and the place was PACKED! I originally planned to do a 5 mile run but that would require 60 minutes and the signs say there is a 30 minute limit on cardio machines. Not only that, but people were walking back and forth behind the treadmills waiting for someone to stop so they could get the machine first.
I thought maybe I could do 30 minutes on one treadmill and 30 on another but when I got off mine (which was immediately occupied) there weren’t any available and I wasn’t about to do the waiting for a machine walk and I called it.
I asked some of my fellow Physical Education majors if they followed the 30 minute limit and all of them said no. But I’m just not a rule breaker, so I would feel bad ignoring it and doing my 60 minutes.
