A Few Signs Spring Has Almost Arrived

I am an avid winter lover but once March 1st hits I get into a spring mindset. It’s a bit premature though as winter here in Alberta can last as long as late April-early May. But I can’t help it! The days are longer, the birds are chirping, and my cabin fever has set in big time!

Here are signs of spring to me:

Tulips are out!

The last owner of the house planted annual tulips and when I see these flowers poking out in front of my little house I know that spring is finally here! Yes, we still get a little snow, but those tulips are persistent!

Easter Weekend = Spring Cleaning

I’ve always used the four day Easter weekend as a way to deep clean my entire house! I open all the windows to air the place out and scrub every possible spot where dirt or dust could be hiding. This year I’ll be 38 weeks pregnant during Easter weekend so I don’t know how much cleaning I’ll get done.

My feet start to itch for trails and pavement

I spend all winter living vicariously through Instagram watching people hike and run but come spring, I feel it in my own feet to get going! If you’re not a runner, just head out for a daily stroll and breath in the fresh air. If you’ve been hibernating all winter, toss is some Scholl’s Massaging Gel Insoles for all-day comfort so your feet don’t get too sore too quickly.

The Gloves Come Out

In our house, another sign of spring is when the softball gloves and bats come out. When the weather gets nice, we start thinking about summer softball and warming up for the season. I don’t know what this year will look like since I’ll have a new baby. But whether I play or not, I’ll still be out there practising and enjoying the weather.

People have red eyes, nose, and skin

I am SO FORTUNATE that I haven’t had to deal with seasonal allergies just yet, but I know for some people (like my mom and sister) this is an uncomfortable time of year.  And they’re both coming the second week of April for the baby’s birth!  I have a store of medicines for them on the ready though for allergy relief. Aerius tablets are clinically proven to relieve 15 different allergy symptoms for up to 24 hours. There is also Claritin Rapid Dissolve for fast 24-hour relief of indoor and outdoor allergy symptoms. The tablet dissolves instantly on the tongue, with no water needed – which will make it perfect for on the go!

So while March is still premature to get excited, I’m still VERY excited for spring to begin!

What are a few of your favourite signs of spring and how do you get prepared for the new season?

I think we are two of a kind you and me. Completely understand your writing.. and meaning! I think all seasons has its charm. And after a long (and I also like it!!!) winter, I feel my body and soul is waking up to life, like nature also does. Something grows inside me every spring: expectations, hopes, lust, and life its self! But Im sure its normal. The bear sleeps through the winter, and wakes up in spring. Even small birds with their small brains knows when to escape Norway before winter comes. And they come back every spring. And tell me who doesnt just love the sound of them singing outside the windows. Well, it sure hits me right in the heart every year! Good bye winter, Im ready for you in some months….after loading my batteries❣
