Lately, there has been a lot of talk about self-care, especially for new moms. It’s tough to take those moments for yourselves but I think everyone can agree it’s essential.  But self care doesn’t have to be hot baths, facials, or yoga (although yoga is a big one for me).  While these are all great ways to relax, there is much more to it!

Here are a few ways I practice self-care:


As I said, yoga is my saving grace when I’m feeling stressed. I’m not in great shape right now so it helps me with my back pain from hunching over and carrying a baby all the time. Another way I deal with that back pain is ALEVE which gives you 12 hours of relief.

Phone calls with my family

My sister Laura likes to call me on her commute to work. This is so awesome when I’m sitting at home with no plans for the day. Nothing makes me happier than a call with any of my family though.
