After last Friday’s vent session about the stubborn baby weight, I worked hard to make my workouts and healthy eating a priority this week. I even went for a run one day after the baby fell asleep at 7 p.m. For someone who goes to bed at 9pm, working out at 7pm is super late. But I was determined and got to enjoy a gorgeous sunset!

Friday-  Spin, Yoga & Walk

I love the spin classes at Gold’s. It such an incredible workout and I’m getting to know all the regulars which is fun.

I also tried their yoga class which is more of a power yoga style, so it was a workout- especially after spin!

Saturday- 3.5 miles

We left early for Claresholm for Ace’s football tournament. I knew it was going to be an all day thing with lunch out at a fast food restaurant, so I made sure that I took the time as soon as we arrived to get in my scheduled run. It was nice to run somewhere different with the foothill views.

Sunday- 60 minute hot yoga and 5 miles

There is nothing I love more than hot yoga on Sunday afternoon. It’s such a great way to kick off the week, and these days it’s the only time I am able to shut off my mind and focus inward.

This was the day I waited for TyTy to fall asleep before going on my run. I stayed in my workout clothes all day and refused to let myself get too relaxed. I ate a light supper and spent the evening picking up around the house and playing with the baby. When he fell asleep, I headed off. I could have gone earlier and left him with Ryan, but I like being the one who puts him to bed.

I was treated to the most gorgeous sunset on this run!

Monday- 5 mile power walk

Today was am active rest day, so TyTy and I hit the local trails for a long walk. He slept the whole time, which was almost an hour and a half.

Tuesday- 6.5km (ish) to Window Mountain Lake

If only I could hike every day with TyTy strapped to me! I would lose all the fat and strengthen my core big time!

Wednesday- Rest

I had a 4 mile run on my schedule, but a hard day subbing a tough class, combined with the hike the day before had me exhausted. I was in bed and sleeping at 8 p.m.!

Thursday- 4 mile run

Whew! Did it ever cool off between Wednesday and Thursday because my run this morning was chilly!

Genuine Health Superfoods

I was recently sent a container of Genuine Health Organic Gut Superfoods. This powdered supplement is made with 22 fully-fermented plant-based organic superfoods and prebiotics, fermented organic gut superfoods.

What’s the difference between a probiotic and a prebiotic?

Both prebiotics and probiotics are important factors to a healthy gut and they work together to nourish the gut flora. A healthy gut helps improve overall health through immune and digestive support; preventing allergies, gas, bloating and constipation; producing some vitamins, absorbing minerals and eliminating toxins.

Prebiotics are fibre-rich food ingredients that are typically difficult for humans to digest. Prebiotics FEED the microbes living in your gut and encourage their growth (probiotics).

Probiotics SEED your gut with microbial strains. Our super potent probiotic – advanced gut health probiotic – was crafted with 15 strains in a balanced formula to seed your gut with more hearty, healthy bacteria that promotes whole body health.

Visit Genuine Health’s website to learn more.

I like to mix it with my plain yogurt with almonds and a light sprinkle of honey.

I also add it to my smoothies.
