I am struggling these days. Since the temperature changed, softball ended and weekend hikes and softball tournaments are done, I am having a really hard time getting moving. I do all the standbys, I always have a gym bag packed, I follow fitness blogs for motivation, I have access to fun lunchtime classes I enjoy, park in the back and walk, always take the stairs- but with every passing week it is getting easier and easier to go day after day with no physical activity. The only activity I have been able to keep up is once a week Hatha yoga and that’s essential to stretch out my back from sitting all the time and not a huge calorie burner.
I’ve noticed a drop in my energy levels and while I know a workout will wake me up and get me going I can’t bring myself to do it. It doesn’t help that most of my loved ones aren’t active either- my work out buddy Catie is the only one but our work schedules conflict and now that’s she’s in Crossfit (and I realized I am not a fan) we aren’t working out like we used to.Ryan works a physical job so he has no desire to hit the gym or go for a run after work or on weekends. My gym in 30 minutes away from my house so if I don’t go at lunch I have to go right after work and I don’t bother to drive all that way on weekends for a work out. I could go outside but it’s just so hard to motivate yourself to do it when a.) its cold and b.) there is only one walking trail in your small prairie community.
I would be way more active if I lived in HawaiiÂ
So what’s a girl to do? How do I fight this lazy-itis that has set in? How do I snap out of this funk and get back out there and going? I’ve posted on this before but I find it so hard  to get motivated when you live in a colder climate. Any cold weather fitness guru’s have some tips for me?
What do you do to motivate yourself? Any tips for getting off the couch in the winter? Especially when it’s dark when you leave work?
