2020 Road Races in the Lethbridge area

Did you set a resolution to get into running? Maybe you’re going to try a 5k for the first time, or you’re like me looking for a half marathon to sign up for. I had a request in our Better LIVIN Crew Facebook group (if you haven’t joined- do!) to research and put together a list of 2020 Road Races in the Lethbridge area.

Since I’m on mat leave and focusing more on revitalizing my blog, I took the time to put together the following list. Some don’t have 2020 dates listed yet so I’ve included the month and website so you can check back often.

Calgary has A TON of races all year long but I wanted this post to stay closer to home.

Of course after spending a lot of time putting this list together, I found an even better list on the Runner’s Soul website. Ha ha!

If I missed a race, please let me know and I’ll be happy to add it!

Also- If you are interested in maybe running a race together, let me know! If I can make it work I would love to do a race meetup. 🙂

Saturday Park Run

Thanks to Aimee for bringing it to my attention that there is a Park Run every Saturday at 9am at Henderson Lake. Parkrun organizes free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world! Visit the website to find one near you.

Moonlight Run- Sat., March 21, 2020

This race is kind of the kick off to running season in Lethbridge! I’ve done it many times but don’t know i I will this year. March is pretty soon after having a January baby for a race.

April

Lethbridge 10/4 Road Race– April 4

This family-friendly four-mile race is to help raise money for the Lethbridge Kodiaks Cross Country team.

Colour Fun Run – April 5

Hosted my the University of Lethbridge Student Union, this on campus race is open to anyone in the community.

Coaldale Family Fun Run– April 18

This year is the 10th Annual race where the whole family is encouraged to come out. It’s an affordable race, $20 for adults and $10 for kids.

Rita’s Run- May 3

A 5k & 10k sponsored by Kinetic Indoor Cycle & Fitness. All proceeds go to Canadian Mental Health Association. No dogs, but stroller friendly.

Lakeview Elementary Superhero Fun Run– May 6, 2020

This is a 2k fun run where racers dress as super heroes and run aroud Lakeview Elementary.

Little Souls – May 27, 2020

This is a kids race that isn’t all in the same day. Participants run a total of 40.2 Km in the weeks leading up to the race and celebrate with their final 2km as a race. This is a perfect event or kids in run club at school!

Coulee Cactus Crawl– May 30, 2020

This is a a 20 mile trail run through the Lethbridge coulee’s and can be done solo or of teams of up to five people.

LadiesFest 8k– June 6, 2020

This ladies only run is through Indian Battle Park an end going up that coulee! It’s a great race to get your girls together for.

WildR Rough Runner– June 5-6, 2020

This adventure series includes three events over two days including; a vertical 100m sprint, 9 km trail run, and an obstacle race.

Glacier Park Half Marathon– June 27, 2020

This is the one I’m looking at for the year. Just south of our borders on the east side of Glacier National Park, this course runs along the stunning rocky mountains.

Harlan Taylor 2/5/10k Run

This is part of the Town of Raymond’s July 1st Celebrations and features a 2K, 5K and 10K.
