Last week I had to travel to Edson, Alberta for a workshop. I was very excited to get back into the forest (where I belong) but even more so for the opportunity to road trip through Banff and Jasper. The drive from Lethbridge to Edson is about 7.5 hours,  but if you go through the mountains like I did, then it’s 11.  While the drive was long it was worth every minute as I saw some of the most spectacular scenery!

CANMORE

I love Canmore, when I worked at Waymarker Hospitality, they owned the Georgetown Inn (a must see!) and Silver Creek Lodge so I was able to go up there a few times and stay in each hotel.  This town has such a cute downtown area with shopping and art galleries. I walked past a furniture gallery boasting a sign “Dogs Welcome”!

BANFF

I didn’t actually stop n Banff, the few times I have been there the congestion has been annoying. But the drive through was gorgeous!

Lake Louise

On my road trip must see list was Lake Louise, one of the most iconic Alberta photo sites anywhere.  I was a little sad when I got there to see low cloud cover obscuring part of the view but it was still gorgeous.
