I spent a week earlier in the month hanging out with family in Washington. It wasn’t quite the most thrilling trip as some unexpected bills took away most of my mad money. But I had a great time with my family and had fun bumming around.
The highlight of my trip was the girls visit to Queen Mary’s Tea Room in the U District of Seattle. My sister Laura discovered the place and made us a reservation. It is exactly what you would expect in a tea house, quaint with lots of china, floral print wall paper and cute antique photos and nick nacks.
When we arrived our waitress asked what the occasion was and when we said it was because of my visit she offered me a tiara for the lunch.

When you go, order the coconut tea!! Leilani did and it was agreed that was the flavour of the table. I even stopped drinking my delicious peach tea to drink her leftover coconut, it was that good.

For lunch I sweet talked them into making me breakfast. My plate was awesome and filled with a good portion of fresh fruit.

My sisters and I decided that we would make going to Queen Mary’s a tradition whenever I came into town for a visit. Get dressed up and go out.
Another highlight of my trip was bumming around the beach with my brother and his girlfriend. In the morning it was very foggy but by lunch each day the sun came out and it got pretty warm.

We decided to go to our ‘secret beach’ from when we lived in Mukilteo as kids.

In the woods from “Secret Beach” is an old rope swing my little brother and his friends used to play on. I made him go first to make sure it wouldn’t snap and send him into the ravine below.

All in all it was nice relaxing vacation, and it was awesome to spend quality time with my family. I’m extra lucky because it’s our year to spend Christmas with my family so we’ll be heading back again in December!
